I had never personally tired WUpload, but I see they are getting pretty popular these days. At first FileSonic was only doing well with PPD and Oron was king for PPS, however, these recent days FileSonic seems to be very good for both sales and downloads.

The more popular the file host the better they are for pay per sale programs.

I have an account with them, but never used it to download or upload.
There just so many new ones going around, it's hard to find the time to test out all of them.

From what I had used, this is what I discovered.. . on my end at least.

HotFile: Their damn account levels.. .. grrrr -- plus they will not only delete your files with the quickness, but your account as a whole as well.

Oron: Damn, them and their account levels, but at least their PPS is easy to get sales on. I think it's their plain, simple and clean layout that is helping with sales.

FileSonic: Also very good with both PPD and PPS -- This maybe the most well rounded hosting I had came across.

FileServe: One of the older file hostings, but they don't generate downloads or sales. I think their layout is just overwhelming -- However, they are less likely to delete your files.

WUpload: Still very new to me, but their PPS seems be doing ok, I'm not too sure about the PPD though.

I use HotFile for my links and FileSonic as a backup. I initially used both for my links but HotFile earns me so much more than FileSonic that I stopped posting them.

The trouble with every other host ( HotFile is the only exception I know of ) is that they claim to pay for every download. While this is true for free users the vast majority will only count one download per premium user per 24 hours.

As a downloader I have Jdownloader set up to download overnight, when there are no limits on my connection, and I might download 300-400 files during this period. If all of those files belong to the same person then that person will get $0.08 as I am a premium user and only one download is counted.

If I compare this to HotFile when downloading 300-400 files as a premium user all the downloads count. So, assuming all 300-400 files all belong to the same person then he will be payed $1.20 in the worst case of 300 files and $0.004 (copper) per download. A better case would be $2.80 for 400 files and $0.007 (bronze).

Essentially, and on average, I earn about 50 times more money with HotFile than with FileSonic simply because HotFile counts every download.

Admittedly, when someone buys a premium account through my HotFile links I get no cash but it does increase my rank. That said, I can't figure out the formula for the ranking system and it can seem grossly unfair to be knocked down a rank for seemingly no reason. I think it relates to the proportion of files stored to files downloaded each day but there must be other factors relating the number of premium accounts sold and the length of time since a file was last downloaded etc.

I've never had any of my files deleted, even ones that have not been downloaded in months. I think HotFile are swift to remove files when they receive a copyright infringment notice and depending on the severity will immediately delete your account; I think all hosts do this though so just be careful what you upload and where I guess.

If you're not getting banned, then yeah, I guess I can see you making money with it.

When I first started file sharing I only used HF about 8 months ago, I went from platinum to bronze over night and was a mission just to get back up. For me, it wasn't working out too well.

You must got some really good content to keep your level up so high.

That's it really isn't it; if it's not working out you need to try something else. There's plenty of services available and most are pretty cheap to try out for a few months; it's just a matter finding the service/s that work best for you.

I know the pain of waking up and finding your rank has dropped, the worst part is that there is no explantion it just seems to happen for no reason, suddenly BAM you're making half as much as last week. So, yeah, I agree that the rank system on HotFile is irritating at best.

I think that my content gets downloaded a lot because I present it well. I think that presentation plays a huge role in whatever you're doing and this game is no different. Some uploaders clearly take little pride in their work and seem to just throw up as many links as possible with scant regard for what I would consider important: clarity, neatness, conciseness and consistency. For me I think it also helps that I upload complete series in a single thread as compulsive downloaders (like me) have to have complete collections.
I'll be changing that a bit in the near future though as I intend to upload my entire JAV collection, which is absolutely enourmous.

Anyway, back on topic. I agree with you evaluations of Oron, FileSonic and FileServe.

I recall that Oron used to be horrible to use as a free user but they had a bit of a rehaul and it seems pretty good now. If I hadn't invested my time into HotFile I would seriously consider Oron, before even FileSonic.

FileSonic is the best all rounder; straightforward and pretty reliable.

FileServe I have a love-hate relation ship with: I like that if an uploader has dead links then the FileServe links will likely be alive. I don't like their interface and I found trying to use their service rather unpleasant.

I considered using WUpload for a while but I was put off by their monkey mascot called Willy. :P

Just as soon as I say I liked wUpload, it starts going to crap for me as soon as about half of my files are reported.
Now I think if I don't have the file renamed before I upload, it just won't upload at all, or it'll get halfway done or whatever and then all of a suden stop.

FileJungle seems to be okay, had some files deleted too, but now I can only upload one file at a time for some reason.

maybe it's just that my External HD is kinda choppy, but still, shain't be havin these problems..

FileJungle is new to me and it's the first time I heard of it.
PM me you referral just in case I decide to use it when it/if it gets popular.

In regards to the monkey mascot, I have no idea why they chosen the monkey to represent them.
It was a big turn off which kept me away, but I started to hear good things about them, so I figured I'd give it a try - LOL

I've tried many hosts, but the one i like more is DepositFiles. I've gotten payments from them, even their rates might not be as attractive but they are legit. I've tried Uploaded.to but I get many complaints that file is not found even when the file is there. Also I don't get as many downloads on files on UL as I get on DF.

I think this poll is a bit outdated since all these host no longer exist other then BitShare.

Maybe it should lock this topic, but feel free to start a new one.
